The importance of the collar with identification data

A study conducted in America, analyzed 1,015 pet owners over 5 years and shows that:

  • 15% of study participants reported a dog or cat lost in the last five years

  • 93% of dogs and 75% of cats were safely returned to their homes

  • 35% were found by the collar with phone number or address

  • 23% were found due to the microchip

  • 6% of the dogs were found in shelters

  • 80% of dogs get lost at least once in their lifetime.

There are countless scenarios in which you can lose your dog. Although the puppy has a microchip, few people have the opportunity to transport the found dog to a veterinary office to scan the chip. It is much easier to look at the collar with the phone number and contact you. The lockets attached to the collars can be easily opened and lost.

Having a custom collar with easy-to-read contact information can improve your chances of reuniting with your four-legged friend. It's also extremely important that your pet be microchipped. Don't underestimate this. It is also legally required that all puppies be microchipped and the microchip must be registered.
